What It Is

Mineral wool sound attenuation ”” also called rock wool or acoustic mineral wool insulation ”” is derived from volcanic rock and recycled material, pressed into dense batts. Its high-density fiber matrix traps sound waves and resists heat simultaneously.

Unlike fiberglass which is only 20-30% recycled, mineral wool batts are 75% recycled material, making them one of the most environmentally responsible insulation options available.

Key Benefits

  • Superior sound absorption ”” improves STC ratings for walls
  • Non-combustible with a melting point of approximately 1177°C
  • Moisture and mold resistant due to dense fiber matrix
  • Thermal insulation properties alongside acoustic performance

Where It's Applied

  • Interior walls and ceilings
  • Floors between units or levels
  • Wood and steel framed structures
  • Industrial and commercial buildings
  • Busy offices, studios, and multi-family buildings

Best For

Any space where noise control is critical ”” multi-family buildings, commercial offices, studios, hotels. Also ideal wherever passive fire protection is required alongside insulation.
